About NEFVBM
Boston has long been celebrated as a hub of musical excellence, home to the world-renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra and countless talented musicians who enrich the city’s vibrant cultural fabric. Yet, despite this rich tradition, Boston has never hosted an exhibition dedicated to showcasing the artistry of contemporary violin and bow makers—until now.
The New England Festival of Violin and Bow Makers was established to fill this gap, providing a unique platform for fine instrument makers to present their work in one of the most culturally and musically significant cities in the United States. Taking place at the North Bennet Street School in Boston’s historic North End, this inaugural event brings together celebrated makers, rare instruments, and local professional musicians for three days of music, craftsmanship, and inspiration.
Our mission is to honor the artistry of contemporary violin and bow makers while fostering connections between makers, musicians, collectors, and enthusiasts. Through exhibitions, live showcase performances, and the opportunity to engage directly with makers, the festival highlights the extraordinary talent and innovation driving the future of string instrument craftsmanship.
Whether you’re a professional musician, a collector, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of fine instruments, the New England Festival of Violin and Bow Makers promises to be an inspiring and unforgettable experience.
