Andrew Weinstein is a luthier and instrument dealer who has been working in the Boston area for over 45 years. He is the owner of Weinstein Violins, based in Waltham, MA, and is a graduate of the Kenneth Warren & Sons School of Violin Marking, now known as the Chicago School of Violin Making. Andrew has made and sold over 150 of his own violins, cellos and violas over the years. He has won a Gold Medal from the Violin Society of America for Cello, combined Workmanship and Tone, with judges including Charles Beare and Hans Weisshaar. More recently, one of his violins was selected for performance by Irina Muresanu at the Violin Society of America's 2023 annual convention. Along with making his own instruments, Andrew works refurbishing and repairing vintage instruments and bows for resale.
