Chris Ulbricht and his wife Laura Barcelo own and operate Indianapolis Violins (est. 2003), a full service violin shop in Indianapolis where he builds violins, violas, and cellos, in between repairs, set-ups, and tonal adjustments.

Like many who find their way to this trade Chris takes inspiration from the violin makers of yore, and the beaten-but-luminescent gems they left behind. Increasingly, though, Chris feeds his violin-making muse with other creative endeavors: playing music with friends,  bow making, guitar building, and travelling with Laura.
