Peter Bingen was born in Los Angeles in 1974 and raised in the American Midwest. A background in Art, Woodworking, Science, and Music led him to the North Bennet Street School where he graduated in 2006. He subsequently worked for renowned maker David Gusset, and restorer and maker Andrew Carruthers. Peter presently works out of his studio in Minneapolis, MN. He makes new instruments, restores instruments for shops across the country, and provides adjustments for professional players. He is a member of the AFVBM (American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers). Awards: Silver Medal for Violin Tone VSA 2024, Certificate of Merit for Cello Tone VSA 2022, First Prize Violin Art of Sound Competition 2012, Certificate of Merit for Violin Tone VSA 2006.
